Rajataide is participating at Malmö Nordic 2013

Rajataide is visi­ting Malmö, Sweden at May 3rd to May 8th. The city-wide art event Malmö Nordic 2013 high­lights local gal­le­ries, art museums and art events during the sum­mer. Many of the par­tici­pants are loo­king for the Nordic art theme from their own star­ting points and asking if it is even rele­vant to talk about the Nordic. The artist-run space CirkulationCentralen will host the pre­sen­ta­tions of the dif­fe­rent modes of con­tem­po­rary artis­tic ope­ra­tions. Rajataide association is participating at Art-Athina Art Fair

Rajataide associa­tion is par­tici­pa­ting at Art-Athina Art Fair held on the 16th to the 19th of May, 2013. Rajataide associa­tion was the only orga­niza­tion from Finland invi­ted to par­tici­pate at Platforms Project @ Art-Athina, cura­ted by Artemis Potamianou. Platforms Project @ Art-Athina is pre­sen­ting various artis­tic groups, col­lec­ti­ves, plat­forms and inde­pen­dent art spaces with non-commercial aims and that ope­rate in uncon­ven­tio­nal ways. Rajataide art associa­tion aims to raise some discus­sion about the artists’ roles in con­tem­po­rary society at the Art Athina 2013 art fair. Art Orienteering 20.–21.4

Gallery Rajatila is part of Art Orienteering on next wee­kend. Exhibition is open and the special pro­gram for the wee­kend is The Portrait Desk by Anne Mölsä and Mirka Kinnula. For the nineth time the audiece has chance to Art Orienteer around Pirkanmaa area. Artists have they stu­dio doors open for the wee­kend and audience has chance to meet the artists. Featherweight Portable Museum visited Tampere

Featherweight Portable Museum is a col­la­bo­ra­tion between artist-run orga­niza­tions to show media art inter­na­tio­nally. It aims to create a way to move around art wit­hout heavy bureauc­racy and in which artist them­sel­ves are clo­sely invol­ved. This is done by asking artist-run orga­niza­tions to par­tici­pate in crea­ting a col­la­bo­ra­tory media-art show, where artists from their cul­tu­ral areas are invol­ved. The selec­tion of the artists has been done by an open call in the orga­niza­tions’ res­pec­tive count­ries. Apply for a one week project time at Galleria Rajatila

We now offer a pos­si­bi­lity to orga­nise also shor­ter exhi­bi­tions or art events of all kinds, in the form of one week pro­ject times. We’re open to pro­po­sals for scree­nings, lec­tu­res, per­for­mances, or totally new kinds of ideas about using the exhi­bi­tion space for one week. You can apply the pro­ject times around the year, and it costs 220 e for the whole gal­lery space. Tell us what and when you’d like to orga­nise, sen­ding your pro­po­sal to yhdistys@rajataide.fi, with a max size of 2 MB.

Have you visited our book shop?

Rajataide RY runs a small book shop attac­hed to the gal­lery in Hämeenpuisto 10. We sell small edi­tions of books from small publis­hers and also self publis­hed mate­rial, buil­ding uo to a wide range of comics, poems and dif­fe­rent kind of art books. We’re proud to only take 10 per cent of the sales price to run the shop, the rest going straight to the artist! Read mor about the shop here.
